We are adding the new DM-RTU/TCP communication converter to the AMiT Automation portfolio, which facilitates the connection of devices communicating via MODBUS RTU on an RS485 line with systems using MODBUS TCP in an Ethernet network.
In building technologies, older and newer devices, RS485 serial lines, Ethernet infrastructure, control systems, meters, controllers, and SCADA visualization tools often meet. DM-RTU/TCP helps bridge these worlds without the need for major changes to the entire installation.
Depending on the selected settings, the converter can be used to connect MODBUS RTU slave devices to a MODBUS TCP master control system, or vice versa, to connect MODBUS TCP slave devices to a system communicating via MODBUS RTU.
In addition to the MODBUS RTU/MODBUS TCP conversion itself, the DM-RTU/TCP can also function as a virtual serial port for a PC. This allows devices on the RS485 line to be accessible to a computer via Ethernet as an additional COM port. The converter can also be used to expand the number of serial interfaces of a control system using an Ethernet network, for example, when connecting a remote RS485 line.
Configuration is performed via the integrated web interface. This allows for communication parameter settings, diagnostics, configuration backup and recovery, and remote device restart.
DM-RTU/TCP is a practical solution for integrators, designers, and building technology managers who need to reliably connect RS485 serial communication with Ethernet infrastructure.
